The NHS announced today 23rd June 2025 that GPs can start prescribing the weight loss injection Mounjaro to a limited number of patients. We have a small number of eligible patients at our surgery who meet the criteria
- a BMI of 40 or over (or 37.5 if from a minority ethnic background)
- and four out of five of the following conditions: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and vascular disease, high cholesterol and obstructive sleep apnoea
If you are one of those patients, please contact us. The service is not available in Mid Essex at present but may be brought in later in the year.
